FireWorks. Celebrating 40 Years of Theaterhaus Stuttgart.
40 years of Theaterhaus Stuttgart – what a milestone birthday! It goes without saying that the Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart also sends extra sparkling congratulations. Inspired by the great tradition of Theaterhaus as a concert venue, The Fireworks Project fires ten colourful dance rockets in the first part of the evening. The new creations are all based on compositions that represent the artistic identity of the theatre. They will be transformed into dance pieces by star choreographers Mauro Bigonzetti, Virginie Brunelle, Stijn Celis, Dominique Dumais, Andonis Foniadakis, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger, Barak Marshall, Benjamin Millepied and Sofia Nappi.

The second part of the evening presents revivals from the repertoire – in some cases with a twist. Andonis Foniadakis, for example, will expand his Bolero in grand style, with the JUNIORS and a good part of the main company. Last but not least, Eric Gauthier will dig into his neo-classical roots with the world premiere of Crescendo. Successful commissions such as Les Adieux for Iana Salenko (Staatsballett Berlin) or Night on Bald Mountain for the Bavarian Junior Ballett Munich have made him want to dive back into the world of dance on points and classical music.
